How to prepare print files
Resolution:
The standard resolution of our printers is a true 360 dpi, perfect for any size and viewing distance. In some cases, we also use 720 dpi for small formats, but this is a rare exception. However, we recommend avoiding interpolations , such as forcing a 360 dpi image into a final format of 70x100cm. Simply leave your native resolution and set only the dimensions of the print format.
Recommended file format:
- JPEG (compressed at Maximum Quality/Level 12)
- Tiff (Preferably lossless compressed, ZIP or LZW)
- PDF (This format must comply with the PDF/X specification and have the color profile embedded)
RAW camera files (.nef, .cr2, .arw, .raf, .dng, etc.) or other file types, even bitmap files (.png, gif, etc.) are not accepted.
Recommended color space:
It is essential to maintain an ICC profile embedded in the print file in order to take full advantage of the color gamut of our Digigraphie printers. The recommended profiles are:
- ProPhotoRGB
- AdobeRGB98
It is still possible to send files with sRGB, DCI-P3, or four-color (CMYK) profiles. Both 8-bit and 16-bit files can be sent, but no difference between the two will be visible in print.
